HydroFacial heaven
It’s a treatment loved by Kate Winslet, Beyoncé and Eva Mendes and it promises a complexion that’ll positively glow. So of course I had to give it a go.
I went for HydroFacical at Dr Rita Rakus’ Knightsbridge clinic. The 50 minute procedure combines gentle but deep exfoliation with hydrating and antioxidant-rich serums. This is done using a device that is basically a mini vacuum cleaner.
It removes dead skin cells and impurities (literally hovering them out of your skin) while bathing the healthy underlying skin with deep cleansing, exfoliating and antioxidant serums.
Unlike with most facials I didn’t leave with a face redder than a marathon runner’s and I could actually SEE the impurities that had come out of my skin. (It was a little gross – and quite frankly a little frightening how much muck the city puts on your face).
Far less scary than an aggressive chemical peel and the results were instantaneous. Even my husband noticed how much softer and happier my skin was.
Experts recommend one HydraFacial treatment a week for six weeks to reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, hyperpigmentation and oily/acne prone skin – but if you want a quick fix, then this’ll have you looking lovely in under an hour. Result.
HydraFacials at Dr Rakus start at £120.00. Visit www.drritarakus.com for more information.
