Blue blood needn’t be hidden away from commoners

While I am NOT a spokesperson for Hello magazine, I would just like to comment: I am “delighted that Zara and Mike Tindall chose to share their beautiful baby pictures with HELLO”. And I’m not outraged in the slightest.

The facts aren’t complicated. Zara is Royal. She is the Queen’s granddaughter but she’s not necessarily cash rich. £150,000 in exchange for 13 pages for us all to gloss over while having our hair blow-dried seems to me a fair trade. You see, it really is a trade, showing that these sporting parents (in more ways than one) are enterprising and resourceful as they share their new bundle of joy with the world.

And so I can’t see the issue with the lucrative deal. Blue blood needn’t be hidden away from commoners, such as myself. We are dying to nosey into their lives and hear first-hand how these new parents are coping with baby Mia’s arrival.

Actually, I’ve always been a bit of a Zara Phillips fan. What she lacks in Royal title she earns in living as a professional equestrian who funds her stables through sponsorship deals with brands such as Land Rover and Rolex.

As it happens, I doubt Mia will be harassed by the media later on in life (as the evils have predicted). Instead she will be wise as to how privacy will work for her and – who knows – she may even, at some point, relish the controversy of a tongue pierce.
