Kilian Kerner's Spring/Summer 2014 collection was unveiled at The Waldorf Hilton as part of London Fashion Week and was even more glamorous than anticipated.

Kilian Kerner

Appropriately named, 'Red Carpet Collection', the glamour and elegance was beautifully epitomised throughout the show.

Kilian Kerner was born and raised in Cologne during the 1970's and although he originally studied acting, he founded his label in August 2004. Kilian's collections are renowned for their story-telling qualities, often reflecting the emotional experience of each theme, which clearly derives from his time spent studying acting.

The popularity of Kilian's designs commands the attention of prominent names across the globe, notably, Karoline Herfurth and Eva Padberg. The 'Red Carpet Collection' was accompanied by a live performance from jazz pianist, Greg Foat, which complimented the interactive show perfectly.

Upon arrival, we were treated to a glass of bubbly and invited to walk amongst the exquisite gowns that adorned the models and mannequins. The collection showcased a range of dresses; from full, mid-length to short dresses. The shift dresses, ball gowns, the flattering and fitted full length dresses and tulip dresses stole the show. The colour palette was a mixture of embellished golds, shimmering blues and bright whites.

Each model stood eloquently next to two to three posed mannequins and obligingly posed for the range of iPhone camera's and photographers. The attention to detail was clear to see; the shoes that complimented the dresses, were of course, eye-catching.

But the main attraction had to be the gold, embellished cropped top with its full length tulle, cream and speckled gold skirt - a definite 'wow' factor, one you could visualise on the 'Red Carpet'.

My personal favourite was the black knee lenth dress that had gold sequinned flowers cast upon it. Fitted around the bust and waist, the skirt was loose at the hips - perfect for an hourglass figure or even for those wanting to create such a silhouette. This is a dress that requires no heavy accessories, perhaps simple diamond stud earrings with a simple black clutch. It is the dress that does the talking here. Many of the dresses at London Fashion Week, could be accused of being over-the-top, however this was a dress that I would happily wear for a special occasion.

Now, where is my imaginary black American Express credit card...
