The London Cabaret Society (whenever it is uttered during the evening the audience is urged to reply with "shhh...") have recently launched their new summer cabaret show at the rather decadent Café de Paris.

Promising to be a night full of burlesque, singing and other bizarre and wonderful entertainment, we went along to see if the London Cabaret Society (shhh) is really the ultimate cabaret.

There is the option to dine as you enjoy the performances. The main of steak and dessert of the most indulgent chocolate pud ever are fantastic and great value for money. I would say the starters leave a little to be desired. Sadly my salmon tasted like it had been sat around for a while. But the main event of the evening is the cabaret acts, not the food!

Enjoying a Dita Von Tini cocktail the night unfolded in a whirl of gorgeous ladies, hilarious singing duos and acrobatic acts. The highlight for me was the singing duo, East End Cabaret, whose song, Danger Wank, (yes you read that right) had me crying with laughter.

The show's compere, Des O'Connor, helps the show flow seamlessly and adds extra humour during the time between acts.

After seeing the acts, if you're feeling inspired to showcase your own burlesques skills (I have none but that didn't stop me wanting to jump on stage and whip my dress off) then you could have the chance. Once a month an unknown talent will get the chance to perform alongside world known acts on the 'Hot Spot'. So it's a great way to see the potential future cabaret stars of tomorrow.

When the show finishes the night is far from over. Guest are invited to dance the night away (to cheesy classics as opposed to unintelligible noise which seems to form the basis of the charts today) with the performers to the small hours.

A night as fabulous and decadent as both the venue and it's performers you can't go far wrong. Vive le Café de Paris and the London Cabaret Society (shhh)!
