An Easy Way to Improve your Health, Skin and Hair

Now that the new year is well on its way, it is a good moment to take a look at the choices we make about the food we eat. Everybody means to eat healthy and nutritional food, but sometimes it is hard to manage that because life tends to get in the way. The key is to be well-informed on what sort of foods your body needs so you can make an informed choice.

Protein is key for your health, skin and hair
What exactly is protein? Protein is basically molecules, made up from long chains of amino acid. These amino acids provide the organs and muscles with energy but are also very important for your skin and hair. Proteins give your skin and hair more radiance and strength.

Protein is one of the most important health foods. They can be found in most foods but the highest sources of proteins come from animal sources, like meat, fish, dairy and eggs.

Eating more protein is easier than you might think. Voucherbox's research on protein is very interesting in this respect: the experiment is still ongoing, looking at three regular people with normal office jobs who are following a clear diet with Myprotein supplements and a workout regime. They update their progress every week. It is quite interesting to see how far they have come in a relatively short period of time, and this is something that everyone can do. Because you get results very quickly, you are less likely to give up after 17 days - which is apparently how long most diets tend to last.

How do protein supplements help?
You may have an old-fashioned notion of a protein bar, a sort of dreary bar that you had to chew away, thinking: "well, at least it is good for me". Choose them as quick, healthy snacks to have on the go or when you're just too busy to cook. They also are suitable for vegeterians and vegans.

There is a whole range of protein products that will inspire you to make entire meals, like baking pancakes, banana bread and even pizza! This makes eating more protein so much easier. Providing healthy food for your children isn't hard when you know a few tricks.

Highlighting skin and hair

Your hair is entirely made of protein (that's what keratin is!) so no wonder it benefits a lot from protein treatments and supplements.

Adding protein to your diet will make your hair strong and shiny. Protein hair treatments are available at salons but you can give your hair an affordable, homemade treatment, simply using an egg. An egg mask is a great way to give your hair a hydration boost and get back that lost shine.

Protein does wonders for your skin as well, as it will improve glow and elasticity. Studies from American Academy of Dermatology show that a diet with more protein will have anti-aging effects on your skin. So the answer is simple: your body will benefit from increased protein intake and protein treatments on a lot of levels.
