CARIBBEAN CHRISTMAS (pictured above)
Enjoy Christmas in the sunny Caribbean with Celebrity Cruises. There will be plenty of festive treats on board the Celebrity Reflection liner, including Christmas dinner and live shows.

The nine-night East Caribbean Christmas fly/ cruise, which departs on 18 December, costs from £1,419 per person. It includes flights from Heathrow, one night pre-cruise hotel stay and a seven-night cruise departing from Miami (Florida) – calling at San Juan (Puerto Rico), Charlotte Amalie (St Thomas) and Philipsburg (St Maarten) – before returning to Miami for the flight home.

For a guaranteed white Christmas, head for the IceHotel in Jukkasjärvi, in Swedish Lapland. Each year, artists create igloo-like Snow Rooms and Art Suites and this season there’s a life-sized ice elephant and a 1970s Love Capsule.

There are also cosy warm rooms. You can try snowmobiling and husky sledding and, on Christmas Day, join a torchlight procession to the village’s 17th-century church for a carol concert. Look out for the Northern Lights, too.

Why not see in the new year in Cambridge at the four-star boutique Hotel Felix, a stylish Victorian villa set in three acres of gardens and just a short drive from Cambridge city centre.

The stylish 52-room property dates back to 1852, when it was built for a surgeon at Addenbrooke’s Hospital. It was renovated, refurbished and converted into a hotel in 2002.

The one-night New Year’s Eve Gourmet Break costs from £160 per person, based on two sharing, and includes a four-course dinner with a glass of fizz on arrival plus live jazz accompaniment and a full English breakfast.
