Saga is offering its first river cruise exclusively for solo travellers, from 14 October, aboard MS Arlene. Sevennight no-fly Autumn Colours of the Rhine, from £999, starts in Bonn, Germany, with coach travel from Folkestone. Sightseeing includes Beethoven’s former home, the wine-making town of Rüdesheim, Cologne, Nijmegen – the Netherlands’ oldest city – and Arnhem.
