Family win the lottery for the third time
The Oksnes family of Norway are celebrating their third lottery win in six years. The family have now won over 3 million Euros after nineteen year old Tord became the latest family member to hit the country's jackpot. However, somewhat coincidentally, all of the wins have come during sister Hege's pregnancies or shortly after she has given birth. Speaking of this bizarre twist of fate, Hege spoke of how her remaining family members have urged her "to have at least ten more children". According to Norway's national lottery company this is the first time that three members of the same family have won separately.

Google maps to include coral reefs on street view
Google maps' street view service has become even more comprehensive with the addition of some of the world's most beautiful coral reefs. The images were taken once every four seconds using 360 degree, 24 mega-pixel cameras by the Caitlin Seaview Survey. The images were originally intended to create a record of the reefs in order to monitor any changes that pollution, fishing or global warming may bring to reef life. However Google saw its chance to capitalise on these unique images and gain an advantage over their growing list of competitors in a so called 'map war'. A spokesperson for the company said "this is just the next step to take users underwater and give them the experience of an area that most people have been to-seeing sea turtles, seeing manta rays, crazy pencil urchins and beautiful fish".

Man flies to work using jet pack
51 year old Jeremy Paxman has found a novel way to avoid the daily commute. Instead of using more traditional means of transport, he travels the forty miles to work using a jet pack. The £115,000 device can lift him thirty foot into the air and propel him at twenty five miles per hour from his riverside home to his office in the Cotswolds via the River Thames and waterways. Speaking of this unlikely transportation device, Paxman said "it's a different way to commute, it's better than sitting in a traffic jam or being stuck on a crowed train, it's environmentally friendly".

Lady discovers snake in her drawer
An unsuspecting Scottish woman got the surprise of her life when she opened her cutlery drawer and found a missing snake. The woman from Aberdeen was making a cup of tea when she came face to face with a milk snake, now lovingly named Spooner. The Scottish SPCA are now caring for the reptile and rescue officer Lynne Craib said "Spooner is in really good condition so we think he was someone's pet up until recently" she went on to add how "snakes are really good escape artists, so there is a really good chance someone is missing him".

Church to choose new Archbishop
The Church of England is preparing to choose a new Archbishop of Canterbury following the resignation of Dr Rowan Williams earlier this year. The decision will be made by the Crown Nominations Commission in a three day meeting with the successor likely to be named next week. Williams, appointed in 2002, has stepped down in order to fill a role at the University of Cambridge and will continue in his current post until December. Contenders to replace him in the most senior role in the Church of England include the current Archbishop of York Dr John Sentamu and the Bishop of London Richard Chartes alongside the current Bishops of Coventry, Norwich and Durham. However contender Graham Jones the current Bishop of Norwich spoke of how "anyone who really longs to be the Archbishop of Canterbury is probably not terribly well equipped to do the job. Nonetheless I am fairly sure the whole process will lead, I hope and pray, to God choosing someone other than me".

Daily tip from the lady archive

"What makes leisure and holidays delightful is just the fact that they come rarely. If you can have them whenever you like they lose their nature.”
