Puuurfect Pedigrees and Mardy Moggies
A new study which puts the friendliness of your feline to the test has been compiled with surprising results. The sphinx cat ranked highest in terms of affection, whereas the lovable moggie is said to be amongst the grumpiest. The study published by the Journal of Veterinary Behaviour, compiled 129 cats from 14 breeds and crossbreeds, ranked them from most affectionate to least. The cats chosen ranged in age, gender and home environment. It is thought the sphinx may be most affectionate because of its dependence on humans to keep warm. Overall, it was the pedigree cats that came out on top and moggies the most likely to ignore their owners and avoid human interaction.

New book shows The Queen in more personal light
'Her Majesty 'a new book set to hit the shelves later this week, shows the softer and more informal side of our Monarch. The book, published by Taschen at £99, has unearthed photos from throughout her reign and unlike many other tribute books this year, many of the photos are previously unseen. The book's editor Reuel Golden, commented, 'we also wanted to convey the relentless travelling, the rituals of meeting and greeting, whether it be in Ghana, France or the US'. Tackling both her life in the public eye and behind closed doors, this book conveys beautifully the personality of our beloved monarch.

Gardeners Required at Buckingham Palace
The Queen has begun advertising for two new gardeners to tend to the gardens at Buckingham Palace and to maintain the condition of the palace gardens to a 'high standard'. The Palace in the heart of London boasts 40 acres of private gardens, including 350 different species of flower, 200 trees and a lake. Amongst which, it must be said are also some rare and collectable species. The palace has also insisted that the candidates must be green thinking, as their role will include recycling and encouraging wildlife too. It is a tall order for any green fingered enthusiast with early hours and seasonal overtime.

Underground Aldwych opened up for Visitors
For the first time, visitors have been able to see the parts of Aldwych Underground Tube Station which have been unused since 1914. During the Blitz, it was used as an underground bunker and has since been used as a film location for numerous films, including Atonement and V for Vendetta. The station which has been virtually untouched in a century, still boasts the 1907 original lifts (although unfortunately, no longer functioning) and an old Piccadilly Line train stationed at one of the platforms. Even the National Gallery used the Station during Wartime as a store for some of its collections. The tours are being run by the London Transport Museum, the next tour is set to take place this coming weekend.

Casablanca Sequel?
The search has begun to find a financial back for Casablanca 2. Cass Warner is hoping to rekindle the romance in a new plot seeing Rick and IIsa's illegitimate son return to Morocco in an attempt to find his father. The plot is based on Howard Koch's screenplay, 'Return to Casablanca'. As granddaughter to one of the original Warner brothers and a film producer in her own right, Warner has a tall order ahead of her. There is yet no information whether a backer has been found, and whether the project will go ahead. But on the 70th anniversary of the film, it seems the legacy is far from over.
