Dowton Abbey star Lily James is Cinderella in latest Disney film
The actress best known for her part as the rebellious Lady Rose MacClare in Dowton beat dozens of hopefuls to the coveted role in the upcoming film directed by Kenneth Branagh. It will be an all start line up with Cate Blanchett as the evil stepmother and Helen Bonham Carter as the fairy godmother. Lily said in a recent interview: 'I already feel that being in Dowton is a fairy tale come true so to metamorphose into Cinderella is completely wonderful and surreal.' The live action film is expected to hit our screens in 2014 over 63 years since the original Disney animation fairytale.

Revolutionary heating potion claims to beat cellulite
Fisioline is the number one cellulite treatment used by Italian women based on so called crackle technology which sparks and fizzes on contact with the skin. This along with lymphatic massage is said to enhance the activity of the £25 product's multiple active cellulite-targeting ingredients - chilli pepper, ivy birch, green tea, aloe and caffeine that can help stimulate lymphatic drainage. Experts don't believe creams applied to the skin surface alone can breakdown cellulite but, anything that stimulates the lymphatic drainage could lead to visible results.

Pioneering 'vacuum' surgery could be the new alternative to open-heart surgery
Todd Dunlap, 62 is the first person to successfully undergo the procedure after a CT scan revealed a 24-inch clot stretching from his legs into his heart. The minimally invasive procedure, which uses a device called AngioVac was used as an alternative to open heart surgery. The operation took place in California and lasted three hours. Surgeons said; 'Retrieving a clot from within the heart used to require open-heart surgery, resulting in longer hospitalisation, recovery and rehabilitation times compared to the minimally invasive approach provided by the AngioVac system.' Mr Dunlap was back at home playing with his grandson after just a week in hospital.

A third of adults have no idea who wrote Great Expectations
According to a study one in seven of us haven't read a single book over the past twelve months. The findings suggest that one in eight said they were a slow reader and they simply didn't like reading. Apparently the favoured genre to read is thrillers with romance coming third. Not surprisingly the most popular book from contemporary literature is the Da Vinci Code, with Harry Potter coming second. Opinium Research who carried out the survey said; 'Unfortunately for many people, reading is a luxury and something which they cannot commit a great deal of time to.'

Acupuncture could help ease depression
A British study found that people who had acupuncture alongside their anti-depressants improved more after three months than those who simply took drugs. The York University researchers said; 'The findings are important because many patients with depression are interested in alternatives to drugs that don't work in up to 60 percent of cases.

It is thought that acupuncture stimulates the release of endorphins and other 'feel-good' molecules. Researcher Dr Hugh MacPherson said that it is still not clear if acupuncture will help people with mild depression.'
