Perhaps it's not such A Wonderful Life!
Paramount Studios have made threats to pursue legal action over a proposed sequel to the classic film It's A Wonderful Life. Plans for the anticipated sequel were announced earlier this week and excitingly the film was set to feature Karolyn Grimes – who starred in the original film of 1946. Paramount has said however that no project can proceed without the "necessary rights," which are owned by the film studio (and have been for the past fourteen years.) The original film which was directed by Frank Capra saw James Stewart star as George Bailey - a family man in the grip of a depression – who is given an angel to reveal to him what life would have been like if he had never existed.

Proserpine by Rossetti sets price record
Southeby's has disclosed that after a particularly fierce round of bidding, the iconic Pre Raphaelite image of Proserpine has been sold for £3, 274, 500. This is a new record for the artist – Dante Gabriel Rossetti. The work shows the empress of the underworld with her trademark pomegranate clasped in her left hand. The model for the image was Jane Morris, wife of the celebrated artist William Morris. Many have suggested that Jane Morris' own life was not dissimilar to the legendary goddess (who was abducted by Pluto after eating some pomegranate seeds) saying that Jane herself was caught between a loveless marriage to Morris and an intimate relationship with Rossetti.

A Royal Roundup
This has indeed been a busy week for Britain's favourite family. The Prince of Wales is anticipated to meet with the leaders of three major political parties to discuss plans to encourage the younger generations to partake in public services. The Prince will launch the "Step Up To Serve," campaign – pledging to increase the amount of participating young people by 50% by 2020.

Meanwhile Prince Harry and the team of 12 injured service personnel have had to hold off on their South Pole adventure due to storms in the Antarctic. They landed in Cape Town on Monday for a brief stop-over and have had to stay until the coast is clear. When they do start the race, the team will have to endure 20km a day, temperatures as low as minus 45C and 50mph winds.

To anyone, anywhere, with love..mwah!
Burberry and Google have joined forces to unveil virtual kiss technology. Yep, you read correctly. Kiss screen digitally send your smooch to any recipient anywhere in the world. Sienna Miller and her fiancé Tom Sturridge have shown us how it's done as part of the Burberry's "With Love," Campaign. So how exactly is it going to work? Users should log onto the Burberry platform and simply kiss their telephone screen. The technology takes the lip contact from your puckering up and transforms it into a digital kiss print. You can even colour kiss with your favourite lipstick. What will they think of next!

Poohsticks sketch found
An original sketch of Poohsticks has come from the shadows after eighty five years. The classic children's and (let's face it) adult's game which was inspired by A.A Milne's wonderful stories have turned up in image form. The picture shows Pooh Bear and Christopher Robin and Piglet looking over a wooden bridge, having just dropped sticks into the river, clearly waiting for their appearance on the other side. The sketch was undertaken by the artist E.H Shepard in 1928 but was thought to be lost to posterity after he tore it from his sketchbook. However the drawing had been kept by his wife Norah and then passed on to a friend. The drawing will be auctioned on Dcember 10 at Southeby's along with some other early Pooh sketches.
