Swedish Princess named as Leonore Lillian Maria
Princess Madeline of Sweden and her husband Chris O'Neill have revealed that their daughter will be known as Her Royal Highness Princess Leonore Lilian Maria. At a ceremony in the Swedish parliament yesterday, a spokesperson for the king informed the Prime Minister of the decision and Princess Leonore officially became fifth in line to the throne. The baby, who was born in New York last Friday, has been given the title the Duchess of Gotland. The middle name her parents have chosen is thought to be in memory of Princess Madeline's great aunt Lilian, Duchess of Halland, who died last year.

715 new planets, and some of them might have life on
NASA confirmed yesterday that the Kepler space telescope has revealed 715 new planets that we didn't know about before, including four which could contain life. The candidates for extra terrestrial activity are the right distance from their stars that there could be water on them. The telescope has been able to find so many planets so quickly by focusing on stars and trying to find planets moving past them, in contrast to earlier searches which looked for signs more randomly. Since it launched in 2009 Kepler has given us confirmation of almost 1000 planets, over half the total number known to exist.

Candle Smoke is good your heart as well as your love life
Tiny salt and potassium particles found in candle smoke could improve the cardiac rhythms of people nearby as well as creating a romantic atmosphere, according to a researcher from Lund University in Sweden. Christina Isaxon discovered that when air with candle smoke in was pumped into a room, those in it experienced more variation in their heart rates, a sign of good cardiac health. The candles used in the study were made of pure Stearine, common in Scandinavia for 200 years, but Isaxon also found beneficial chemicals in candles made of a mixture of Stearine and Paraffin.

Richard E Grant to play art historian in Downton Abbey
After confirming earlier in the month that he would appear in the next series of Downton Abbey, Richard E Grant has revealed that he is playing an art historian in the programme, which has just begun filming. His character, Simon Bricker, will stay at Downton as house guest of Lord Grantham, and it is thought his visit will last four episodes. The role will reunite Grant with Maggie Smith and director Julian Fellowes, who he last worked with on Gosford Park in 2001. He played a footman in the film, and told Vulture magazine this week that he was enjoying the better costumes on offer to a character upstairs.

Strictly Come Dancing faces Axe according to ex-BBC boss
Fans of Strictly Come Dancing are concerned about the show's future after the BBC's former Director of Communications Ed Williams said the show was nearing the end of its 'natural life'. The programme was launched in 2004 as a celebrity successor to televised ballroom dancing competition Come Dancing, which ran for almost 50 years, but the last series of the new show delivered disappointing ratings. Williams' opinion is voiced in a new book 'Is The BBC In Crisis?' which is due out on Saturday. In it he also warns that Dragons Den and the Apprentice could face the axe soon.
