What are you working on at the moment?
I have just finished rehearsals for a play I’m appearing in called Not A Game For Boys by Simon Block and directed by Jason Lawson. It also stars Alan Drake and Oliver Joel who are both great to work with.

When were you at your happiest?
I’m probably not the first parent to say this, but holding my eldest daughter Brittany in my arms for the very first time was unbeatable.

What is your greatest fear?
I’m not afraid of many things, but I suspect I am anoraknaphobic – I have a fear of trainspotters.

What is your earliest memory?
As a young child, sailing a yacht on a park pond with my lovely dad.

What do you most dislike about yourself?
I have never much liked my feet.

Who has been your greatest influence?
Apart from my father, I would have to say the late, great, actor Robin Williams, alongside my hero Gilbert O’Sullivan.

What is your most treasured possession?
Without a doubt, it is a gold cross my parents gave me for my 13th birthday.

What trait do you most deplore in others?
Arrogance and people who are conceited.

What do you most dislike about your appearance?
I’m putting on weight, thinning on top, and I have a bunion on my left foot.

What is your favourite book?
The Wind In The Willows by Kenneth Grahame.

What is your favourite fi lm?
The Shawshank Redemption or The Sound Of Music.

And your favourite piece of music?
Anything by Gilbert O’Sullivan.

What is your favourite meal?
It might sound very simple, but I adore ham, egg and chips.

Who would you most like to come to dinner?
My late mother because I miss her, and an astronaut who has landed on the moon. I’d be delighted to meet any of them. And the physicist Stephen Hawking.

What is the nastiest thing anyone has ever said to you?
An ex-girlfriend’s mother once said to me: ‘It shouldn’t have been your mother who died, it should have been your father.’

Do you believe in aliens?
Yes! Our galaxy is full of life but we will never meet them because I don’t believe it is possible to travel faster than the speed of light.

What is your secret vice?
Dirty jokes.

Do you write thank-you notes?
Yes, I do… thank you.

Which phrase do you most overuse?
I call all my male friends ‘lovely man’.

What single thing would improve the quality of your life?
To be happy with my lot.

Can you tell us one thing people might not know about you?
I have a tattoo of a heart with an arrow through it on my shoulder with the initials of my three daughters: BTM.

What would you like your epitaph to read?
‘Not yet, I’m still breathing…’
