Mineral Marvels
Become a natural beauty
By Fiona Hicks
Mineral makeup is having a moment. From its humble beginnings as nondescript pots of loose powder, over the past few years ‘mineral’ has a byword for makeup which is natural, light and – above all – kind to your skin. As a firm devotee, I can vouch for its excellence. A few weeks of using light mineral powder quickly did away with the blocked pores and dullness accrued from years liquid foundation. ‘Minerals are a much more youth-giving option because they are light reflective, bouncing light away from lines and wrinkles and giving a soft focus glow to the skin,’ says jane iredale makeup artist Laura Walker.
But it doesn’t stop with face powder. The beauty aficionados were quick to discover the mineral appeal, and from concealer to lipstick to mascara, its presence is ubiquitous.

"BE careful with your mouth make-up. By careless work you may obliterate well-cut lines, and you will always achieve a badly groomed look if your lipstick is smudged and badly applied."
