After recovering from a wonderful evening at Fashion International’s first installment of their seasonal showcase, I headed back to the venue to watch ‘Part 2’.

Yuvna Kim, a designer from the night before sat at the front wearing one her beautiful dresses and the seats soon filled up - busier than the previous night, there were people filling in spaces, making sure they all could witness some more upcoming designers.

Two of the designers from Friday were exhibiting once more, Gianni Lilliu and Dee Duce. However, there were three new designers waiting to show off their new collections, Luna Sky, House of Mobe and Omar Mansoor.

I was very lucky to be given a brilliant seat in the second row. From here I was able to get a great view of the models and witness some truly beautiful designs.

Fashion International
Luna Sky, specialises in swoon-worthy, glamorous dresses that are really red carpet worthy. I had been looking forward to seeing this collection as her inspiration was described as reminiscent of Audrey Hepburn - and, who doesn’t adore her style? A fair few of these dresses I could imagine in a bridal collection; the intricate detailing on the tea length dresses had laser cut flowers, scattered silver sequins, pearl beading that dressed the models arms - each design was carefully thought through and was ever-so feminine. Accessories were again minimal.

House of Mobe showcased a vibrant collection and one that embraced creativity. Behind this label that was launched in 2010 is, Paulina Adeniran, Nanice Sam-Amoye and Johanet Soname. The SS14 collection consisted graphic-styled and asymmetric cuts that came in the form of cocktail dresses, gowns and tailored separates.  This was an exciting collection. Laser cut racy red leather, sat perfectly alongside crisp white or red silk and created a range of styles that would suit a variety of body shapes. The fabrics complimented each other and flowed beautifully.

Omar Mansoor, fused Eastern elements with classic red carpet glamour. This particular collection was inspired by the Golden Age of Opera, in particular, ‘Madama Butterfly’. Omar managed to epitomise the drama, opulence and emotion of both Opera stories and their magnificent venues and exalted the art form. The main colours that featured included jewel tones; blue and black and combined embroidery, lace and velvets. The result was figure hugging - in all the right places, feminine dresses. One of my favourites from the collection was the one-shoulder floor length gown that combined black lace, rich black velvet - a true beauty!
